Apex XRPL Developers Summit

APEX XRPL DEVELOPERS SUMMIT

The Apex XRPL Developers Summit saw nearly 300 developers, creators, and innovators gather for an inspiring two-day summit in Las Vegas, NV to celebrate blockchain technology.   The event is hosted by Ripple (XRP)  and the XRPL Foundation whose focus is on crypto currency innovation in financial institutions, businesses and governments, with the goal to build a more efficient and transparent global financial system.

This hybrid event was designed for blockchain developers to learn, build and network while attending the 30+ sessions with over 50 speakers, exploring some of the most innovative projects built in this space and led by industry leaders such as Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit and Seven Seven Six, who spoke at the conference.  The summit also saw 1.6K viewers tune in for the virtual livestream globally. The hope with such innovative programming was to introduce more people to the initiatives happening on the XRP Ledger.

Innovation was the common thread throughout the summit with announcements and sessions focussing on the environment including the social, global ecosystem and corporate governance NFTs and their direct connection to forest conservation.

Taking place while the world was slowly stepping back into LIVE events due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Charlie & Sprocket was tasked to ensure a safe and seamless in-person transition, and an equally exciting and engaging online event experience.

C&S partnered with the newly-opened Virgin Hotel Las Vegas making Ripple their first live event.  Nevada was one of a few states that was back open, ahead of the rest of the world but with the hospitality industry not fully staffed, the expectation was still for C&S to provide quality customer service.  Although seasoned professionals, we were navigating uncharted territories with health and safety not only for our team but for the production crew, clients, guest speakers and conference attendees.

While collaborating on design with Ripple, C&S also led in key production planning and execution of all live and virtual event elements from keynote presentations, networking + breakout sessions, and a VIP after party.  Other key responsibilities for the C&S team included the project management on key program components (registration, health and safety, food & beverage, program consulting, show calling) as well as overseeing the Speaker & Talent management.
